Step into the Bezuidenhoudt Suite, where luxury meets heritage. This spacious room, adorned with exquisite inlay yellow wood furniture and a full-length mirror set in a yellowwood cabinet, offers a sanctuary of tranquillity. The suite’s elegant headboard, blackout curtains, and sun filters ensure a restful night, while the en-suite bathroom invites you to indulge in a delightful bath or shower. Surrounded by original South African art, the room’s timeless sophistication is palpable. Outside, the rose garden by the pool beckons, offering a serene spot to observe the local birdlife or take a refreshing dip, with swimming towels at the ready.

HIGHLIGHTS
Carus Gardens, Our Country in the City experience is conveniently located in Johannesburg.

Sandton is a mere 5,9km drive, the city Centre is 8,2km and the Rosebank precinct 4,5km. This places you well for any Uber, Gautrain, or self-drive options and 8-15 minutes from any metropolis.

The Retreat Suites are named after the families that established the Peach farm in the late 19th century. You may find yourself staying in the Geldenhuys, Van der Linde, or Bezuidenhoudt Suite.

The Suites look onto the pool, surrounded by the luscious water-rich garden. They are decorated with oriental carpets, original and photographic art, antique wardrobes, and fresh flowers.

Your suite’s access is separate, and the King-size, percale cotton linen bed, is en-suite to a full bathroom (shower and bath), inviting you to rest and restore your soul. Let us know if you want to draw a bath with bubbles to relax with a glass of something to compliment the moment.

Recharging is at the order of the day. Coffee and tea for your comfort is a kettle-boil away in the suite with a complete kitchenette. To make your stay even more pleasant, you will discover milk and filtered still water in the fridge, coffee, tea and a cookie jar filled with the infamous Lavender tea biscuit on the kitchen counter.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served on a tray in your room between 07h00 to 09h00. 

DINNER
You are welcome to visit the restaurants in the area – all within walking distance from Carus Gardens. Your choice includes a range from family (pizza, pasta, and burgers) to social dining (Chinese and a modern take on fine dining).

WI-FI
We will share the access details with you upon arrival. However, for your and our cyber-safety, the access details are changed intermittently.

CHECK-IN
We welcome you to our world daily from 14h00 to 19:00.

CHECK-OUT
We know your future journeys onwards will take you where you are destined to go, so on the day of your departure, check-out is at 10h00. If, for some reason, you require to stay later than check-out, please arrange the safe keeping of your luggage with us.

We will be preparing the room you enjoyed for our next guest. Should you wish, depending on availability, you can book a suite for an additional night.

It happens that you may need to be on your way before breakfast on your departure day.

LAUNDRY
For our guests staying longer than five days, we offer a laundry service (twice a week, washing, ironing/ pressing) at R370/week/person.

MAINTENANCE
The original Linden Farmhouse on the Carus Gardens estate was built in 1899, and upkeep is ongoing. Should you experience difficulty with anything, we will gladly tend to it or find someone to assist us in resolving the heritage home’s ails.

We hold life dear and, as such, would appreciate a contact number for a next of kin.

You can reach the Police, Linden Sector vehicle on +27716756047, and the Ambulance on 082 911. There are numerous fire extinguishers placed around the property that are adequately marked, and the Fire Department is available on +2710177. The Armed Response is available on +27116781972. In all instances, you can give the following details: Carus Gardens, 34 2nd Avenue, Corner 7th street, LINDEN.

The perimeter of the premises is protected with an electric fence. Should anything trigger an alarm, silent or otherwise, the Armed Response Company will immediately dispatch a vehicle to inspect the premises.

STREAMING SERVICES:
Your room features a wide variety of viewing options including Netflix and Youtube. We do not offer other paid streaming services such as DSTV.
